Richard Knowles guilty of breaking into the dwelling house of Joseph Bell in the parish of St Mary, Carlisle; and stealing therefrom a box (valued at 1/-), 4 gowns (valued at £1), 2 quilted petticoats (valued at 8/-), 2 (other ?) quilted petticoats (valued at 8/-), 2 flannel petticoats (valued at 3/-), 2 shirts (valued at 6/-), a pair of stays (valued at 10/-). 7 shifts (valued at £1), 5 pairs of stockings (valued at 3/-), a pair of sleeves (valued at 1/-), 3 aprons (valued at 8/-), a hat (value at 8/-), 2 pairs of sheets (valued at 8/-), 2 napkins (valued at 1/-) and a bolster drawer (valued at 6d) - the property of Richard Pilkington. Witness presentment - no indictment found.
Claimed as executed by the Sheriff. The Newcastle Journal reports him as reprieved.
